We all long for our children to blossom into the amazing people they were born to be!  The environment we create, how we respond to mistakes, disappointments, frustrations and joys will all help shape their view of the world.

Here is an interview Sarah did, discussing this parenting philosophy.  Enjoy!

  • Sarah’s teaching style is very approachable and warm, She gives several practical tools and examples that can be applied to any situation.

  • This class on Setting Limits is excellent. As a grandmother who babysits with her 2 year old and 4 year old grandsons, this class is very practical and helpful.

    Becky Adams
  • Your class was life changing.  I want you to know that the information really did sink in!  I have noticed a real shift in the way my husband and I relate to our girls.  Having been to your workshop together really helps us see situations, relationships and parenting through a similar lens.  This is immensely helpful and creates a lot of harmony and connectedness in our family.
One of the most important things we learned is to support the needs of each other as parents, not just the kids!  Now we can more easily recognize when the other parent is growing “flooded” in the moment, and this helps us help each other, so we can both be our best for our kids!
I can’t say that we always follow the NVC model – we are not perfect! – but I can say that this model has given us a new foundation and now we view relationship within this framework.  It’s such an incredible path to peace and kindness!

  • Sarah’s calm presence is, in and of itself, worth the cost of taking this class! I felt like I absorbed her methods by osmosis and will try to think “what would Sarah do?” when I feel challenged in a tough parenting situation. I am grateful for all the knowledge and experience she shared and feel so happy to be among like-minded people who want to learn to parent with empathy and mindfulness. This class is a wonderful and important resource for those looking to do the same.

  • Sarah helped me become a more empathetic parent and person. She taught me the importance of self-empathy and self-regulation first, and then to help regulate my child. I am able to experience more love and joy by being able to accept myself and children for who we are and without judgement or expectation.

  • Sarah’s class is beyond amazing. It will transform you as a parent. It’s very beneficial to go with your child’s other parent, but not required. The techniques you learn in class not only work for your children, but for all relationships you have. The class gave me newfound hope. The 6 weeks flew by. I only wish we could have had many more weeks of learning. I have told many people about everything I learned!

    Theresa M.
  • I was very excited to sign up for the class, hearing positive comments. I also heard Sarah was a great instructor. Both were absolutely correct. The tools learned from the class were not only very eye opening, but can be applied to any relationship, especially with your spouse/significant other. I was brought up in a house that was 180 degrees from these teachings. I learned a lot about myself and am now committed to make significant improvements in my relationship with my son. I wish everyone who is struggling as a parent (and even those who aren’t) could take this class and I wish everyone could have Sarah as their leader.

    Brent Ogawa
  • Sarah was a great instructor. She led the group in a supportive, nurturing way. I felt like she really understood our struggles as parents and is a true example of how using empathy-led techniques can improve your connections with your children.

    Jolee Bentley
  • Sarah really helped me understand the concept of empathy, enabling me to put myself in my children’s shoes versus trying to fix every situation. I feel more connected to my kids and look forward to building these techniques to strengthen the bond with my kids.

    Tracie Stearns
  • Sarah was really the perfect model of patience, empathy and non-judgement, which is what I was looking for when I signed up for the class. I feel so much more confident in my ability to do my job and be there for others. Thank you!!

  • Sarah has a gentle nature and an extremely kind heart. She is skilled in heart centered listening, leading from a place of love and applying empathy in all the right spots. She teaches compassion by way of her own example as a mother and a group facilitator. If you are looking for a place to connect with other like-minded parents or simply some applicable tools to creating a sense of harmony within your family,  I highly recommend Sarah!

  • The workshop was a perfect combination of discussion and practice.  Sarah was very insightful and effective: she fine tuned our skills by reviewing and discussing the challenges we had encountered that week. By facilitating the group discussions and exercises, she allowed for broad application of skills to different situations.  Sarah’s engaging work transformed theories of parenting tools into real practice.  I definitely recommend this workshop to anyone involved in childcare.
